Aoycocr Smart Plug Not Connecting? Here's what you need to do

A smart home device is great until it stops working. If your Aoycocr smart plug is not connecting, you’re not alone.

When setting up or switching networks, many users encounter occasional hiccups. What's good news? There are a few simple steps to troubleshoot most issues.

Step 1: Verify your Wi-Fi network

Wi-Fi networks supported by the Aoycocr smart plug are only 2.4GHz. It won't work with a 5GHz network. While

setting up your phone, make sure it is also connected to the 2.4GHz band. On most routers, you can separate the

2.4GHz and 5GHz bands or rename them.

Step 2: Make sure the plug is reset

The plug might not connect if the settings have not been reset to factory defaults. Hold the power button for about

5–10 seconds until the indicator light starts blinking rapidly. Now you can pair it again.

Step 3: Be Sure to Use the Right App

Aoycocr smart plugs usually work with Smart Life or Tuya Smart apps. Depending on the model, make sure you use

the right one. Get the latest version on Google Play or the App Store. To add a new device, follow the instructions

in the app.

Step 3: Bluetooth permissions and location information

Bluetooth and location permissions may be required when setting up the app. You will need to enable these on your phone.

A battery saver mode can also be disabled, since it restricts background activity.

Step 4:You Should Update Your Apps and Firmware

In the case of outdated apps or firmware, connectivity issues might occur. There may be an update needed for your

phone's operating system or the Smart Life/Tuya app. When a plug is connected, its firmware may also be updated

automatically.

Step 5:Make sure you verify the settings on your router

Your router's security settings shouldn't be too strict. It might be possible to resolve hidden issues by temporarily

disabling MAC address filtering or enabling DHCP. While setting up a VPN or guest network, avoid using them.

Final Thoughts

When your Aoycocr smart plug won't connect, it's frustrating, but most problems can be resolved in a few minutes. Set

up your app, check your Wi-Fi compatibility, and check your permissions. Reinstall the app or try another phone if

all else fails.
